Client Objective
A major agribusiness group reached out to us with a specific request: to design and deliver bactericidal UV sections for air disinfection in piglet-rearing facilities. The site consisted of three large livestock hangars, each equipped with triple-rotor ventilation units moving 20,000 m³/h of air. The client's priority was clear — achieve a pathogen reduction efficiency of at least 99% against Staphylococcus aureus, while ensuring seamless integration into existing circular duct systems with a diameter of 820 mm.
Our Solution
We developed nine complete UV ventilation modules, each engineered for 20,000 m³/h airflow and delivering a minimum disinfection dose of 130 kJ. To meet the microbial inactivation target efficiently, we used high-output amalgam UV lamps, known for their extended service life and consistent radiation output. Each module housed ten ultraviolet lamps, striking the optimal balance between performance, thermal control, and energy efficiency.
Key Design Features
- Custom diffusers were fabricated to match circular duct interfaces, ensuring airtight integration.
- Dual-access service hatches were built into both sides of each unit, allowing fast, tool-free maintenance using hand-tightened clamps while preserving the unit’s airtight seal.
- All internal components and sealing materials were selected for durability under high humidity and dusty conditions, typical for agricultural environments.

Project Outcome
