Project Snapshot
A hygiene-product manufacturer operates a fast conveyor with a 450 mm product web at up to 250 m/min. The task: add preventive UV surface disinfection at the packaging stage without altering the conveyor geometry or halting production.
Engineering Challenge
- Deliver a uniform UV dose across the full 450 mm width.
- Fit emitters into restricted clearance zones with no line stoppage.
- Select a lamp configuration matched to dose targets rather than over-specifying power.
Solution Design
After site measurements and dose modeling, three modular builds were proposed for the same footprint (dose @ belt surface / total lamp power):
- VOZUF 810×4 — ~11 mJ/cm², 688 W
- VOZUF 810×8 — ~22 mJ/cm², 1376 W
- VOZUF 810×12 — ~33 mJ/cm², 2064 W
The client selected the 4-lamp variant to provide preventive disinfection rather than corrective treatment of a defined contamination issue.

Delivery Scope
- Stainless-steel (AISI 304) conveyor UV housing
- HOT amalgam UV lamps (ozone-free, 254 nm)
- Control cabinet with four electronic ballasts
- Ceramic connectors, cabling, mounting hardware
- Factory packaging and coordinated shipment window
Why HOT-type lamps? Closely spaced emitters increase thermal load; HOT amalgam UV lamps stabilize output at elevated bulb temperatures, preventing power roll-off and extending stable irradiance at high line speeds.
Implementation
The workflow included receipt of plant photos and mounting zones, UV dose calculations at operating height, and a fast commercial/technical offer. Lead time from approval to readiness was 15 working days. The irradiator installs above the web, maintaining access and clearances, and ties into existing controls without interrupting throughput.
Outcomes & Benefits
- Consistent, preventive UV dose across the entire 450 mm width
- Lower microbiological risk on packaged goods
- Improved hygiene KPIs with minimal operating cost
- No process changes or production downtime during integration
If your line needs verified UV disinfection tuned to belt width and speed, we’ll model the dose, configure lamp count, and supply a complete, serviceable package.
